🎯 Purpose

This tool is designed to spark thinking and dialogue. It creates AI personas inspired by the reasoning styles and argument patterns of leading public figures you choose. You can set any debate topic for them to explore, surfacing diverse perspectives—or switch to Study Mode, which lets you debate directly with an AI persona.

The purpose is to generate ideas and conversation, not to impersonate real individuals.

How to Use Debatr:

• You will need a **Claude.ai account** to use the app.
• Works with both free and paid Claude accounts (usage limits depend on account type).
• Choose a topic.
• Pick two names (public figures, thinkers, or archetypes).
• Choose a Claude model
  • Free users: Sonnet 4 (good quality, daily message limits apply).
  • Pro+ users: Opus 4.1 (deeper reasoning, higher usage limits).
  • Both models work well — Opus just provides more sophisticated reasoning.
• Click “Generate Profiles,” wait 20 seconds, and then click the buttons that appear to launch and continue the debate.
• Long-time Claude Users may get weird responses. If you do:
  • Go to Settings → Profile → Features and make sure AI-powered artifacts are enabled.
  • New users: this is usually enabled by default. </aside>

📊 Debate Format

Each generated debate includes:

• Opening statements to set the stage
• Rebuttals that challenge the opposing side
• Unlimited cross-examinations to go deeper
• Closing statements that wrap it all up
• Responses typically take 20–30 seconds per round. This pause is intentional, giving the AI time to generate more coherent and nuanced arguments
